Induction to UK Medical Practice - e-Learning for Healthcare Modules / supplementary resources

We recognise that the idea of coming to work in an entirely new healthcare system can be daunting. Please be reassured that at Kingston Hospital we are committed to ensuring that you receive a full trust and departmental induction on your arrival and be provided a minimum of two weeks of shadowing within your department, so you will get to know how we work. You will also have the opportunity to attend a face-to-face Regional International Medical Graduate Induction within 6 months of starting work with us.

To help induct you into UK practice, Health Education England have developed very useful national web-based educational resources including sections on Introduction to Working in the NHS, Social, Ethical, Legal, Patient Safety and professional aspects of UK clinical practice and personal health and wellbeing. We strongly recommend that you take the opportunity to look through these free resources ahead of starting work in the NHS.

To access the e-Learning for Healthcare Modules, you will need to register at ‘www.eplfh.org.uk’ using the ‘Register / Login’ tab. If you have been provided with a work / nhs.net email address, please register using this. If not, you can register with your own personal email address and will still be able to access the ‘NHS induction programme for Internal Medical Graduates’. If you are not in a training Job, please select ‘Non-Trainee Doctor (Medical (GMD) or Dental (GDC)’ for your current Job Role and Enter your GMC number to complete your registration.
