Registering with the GP is one of the first steps when you arrive in the UK. The process is simple and involves these 3 steps:
Step 1: Find your local GP practice - Find a GP - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
Step 2: Complete the registration form
Once you have chosen a GP practice you should:
contact them to find out how they will receive your application
download and complete the registration form
email the completed registration form to the practice
Step 3: Registration confirmation
When your registration has been received by the GP practice you’ll be notified, either by telephone or email to advise if your application to register has been successful.
It is as simple as that!
You can find your nearest GP surgery by searching for it on the internet and also looking at reviews on them before you sign up.
You can click on the link below to read more about this on the official NHS site:

Upon registering with a GP, you will be given an NHS number. This is a unique number that enables health and social care staff and service providers to identify you correctly and match your details to your health and care records. You may also wish to download the NHS App on your smartphone or tablet via Google play or App store. This will provide a simple and secure way to manage your health record, book appointments, view test results, order prescriptions and much more. You can also access the same services in a web browser by logging in through the NHS website. Please visit https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/about-the-nhs-app/ for more details about the NHS App.
